Hello, fellow Houston writers and editors!
As of August 20, 2010, Ning is no longer free; it will become a paid service, and the current network will cease to exist. We are not going to be paying to use Ning's services, and I hate for this to be the end of the the group.
In the meantime, I have created a Facebook
group and
fanpage for Houston Writers and Editors. If anyone has any ideas for how we can better organize the group, please let me know, since I am looking into many options, especially for those who don't use Facebook. (You can contact me at temlynwriting@gmail.com if you have any questions or suggestions.)
I would love to hear from others who are interested in getting this group more active. Perhaps we can have mailing lists for various genres to discuss, or something like that. If you're anything like me, you might like to connect with other local writers and editors because so many people in our everyday lives have no idea what it is that we do, and don't take us seriously.
I have been sending out Facebook invitations to our current members, but you can also request to join if you click the links. I hope you'll join the new Facebook groups as we try to find a new place for Houston writers and editors to gather.
